Archive for November, 2011
The 2011 Atlantic Hurricane season began on June 1, 2011 and will end on November 30, 2011. Unique to this season, were the first 8 tropical storms, which failed to reach hurricane strength. These storms did not make US or Florida landfall in the US or Tampa, Florida, and were limited to the Caribbean and Mexico. The first storm to become a hurricane in 2011 was Irene.
Hurricane Irene missed direct landfall in Florida, and first touched landfall in North Carolina. During this period, GenerX Generators, a Generac generator dealer in Tampa, Florida, received dozens of inquiries towards standby generators in Tampa, and as far north as New York. To date, GenerX continues to have dozens of residential generators in stock, which take only hours to install at your home.
Tropical Storm Lee was the next storm to miss landfall in Tampa, Florida. Instead, Lee reached land in Louisiana, drawing an interest in both residential and commercial generators. Lee reached states as far north as Pennsylvania, and even to Canada. During this time, power outages were caused mainly due to flooding, and wind.
The last hurricane of the season has been Rina, which reached landfall on the Yucatan peninsula towards the end of October. In all, the 2011 hurricane season was calm, leading to no power outages in the Tampa Bay area, and very few throughout the United States. GenerX power continues to ship generators outside of Tampa. In addition, GenerX is Tampa’s only elite Generac generator dealer, installing standby power systems for both residential and commercial needs.
